MicroAdvances employes various plastic material for the manufacturing of manifolds and custom fluid circuits. The following describes the most common materials we use:

ACRYLIC

Acrylite FF® is a continuously manufactured acrylic sheet. It is a thermoplastic that offers high optical characteristics, low stress levels, lightweight, dimensionally stable, and is resistant to breakage. This is the most typical and economical plastic that MicroAdvances uses.

Acrylite GP® is a cell-cast acrylic sheet and offers excellent optical characteristics, thickness tolerances, light stability and low internal stress levels for consistent performance. In addition to colorless sheet, a wide range of transparent and translucent colors is also available. This material is more expensive than Acrylite FF and is recommended only for special designs.

RIGID PVC (Polyvinyl chloride)

Vintec® Clear is a thermal formable, normal impact, corrosion and chemical resistant PVC. It is clear with a grayish tint.

ACETAL HOMOPOLYMER

Acetal homopolymer is a thermoplastic consisting of PTFE fibers uniformly dispersed in acetal resin. This combination produces a material with high lubricity, strength, dimensional stability, and toughness.
